NEW YEARS

January 3, 2017
Hey Ya'll
So lots of crazy stuff, for Christmas I got to Skype my family and that counted for our emailing of the week. but what all happened this week is that we got to go to a lot of meetings that week because of holidays and also because it was the end of the month. Also we were able to find new investigators, and We sang carols to all o our investigators Christmas night. I Had a blast talking to my family on Christmas morning, and earlier that morning we had a sacrament meeting that was nothing but musical numbers, and I did play a piece.

So many people were out of town these past two week and so we haven't had much luck with getting in contact with our investigators. And this past week we've been having a ton of tornado warnings and flood warnings so we were stuck inside for most of the week. and a ton of rain, the river overflowed and the waters almost reached our neighborhood. It's been really slow week, but hopefully it will be better this next week.

But hey it's NEW YEARS!!!!!!!! so i've been making goals and I like something I just heard from my mom, which is to have a theme. And My theme will be to "apply". Because i need to put myself in the shoes of my investigators, and not just help them take steps but take the steps with them till they can do it on their own. I love this Gospel and I know it is the Church which Jesus Christ established while he way on the earth. I love each of you and pray for you guys! And more importantly The Savior loves and cares about you and he is always having is arms stretched out towards you! Happy New years Ya'll!

More Service

November 7, 2016
Okay so this last week was a little every where, so I'm not even sure if I'll get everything in
there. But we have had lots of work to do on Krenshaw st. which is super cool, I love those
busy days when you come home and your exhausted. We've been reaching out to the
members alot more, and from the members we get alot of referrals, Thats awesome. I had
finally got a new card so I was able to buy myself a bike! Also this week we have been
doing lots of service, because a members house has been invaded by cockroaches, and we
had helped someone move, we also helped 3 different people with their yard. We haven't
had any luck with baptism but we are working on helping our investigators to take those
steps.
I'm sorry nothing exciting happened this week, just the same routine for the most part. And
it's so short too! maybe I should start writing things down in my journal so that I remember
what happens. Anyways every one sounds like they are doing so good! I love ya'll and wish
the best for you!

Service- A Christlike Attribute

October 31, 2016
Hey Y'all!
It has been quite a week, O few things I forgot to mention last week was that Wetumpka
is an Island that sits in the middle of the Coosa river. It's so beautiful, and most of the
people here are baptist, we only have around 15 LDS families. And Wetumpka means
rushing waters, which is totally true about this island, it had a beautiful river and it's right
next to my house and hear the rushing waters every morning when we run. no body ever
gets close to the river because the current is very strong and there are alligators there
during the winter, spring seasons. The people here never chain any of their dogs so when
Sister Begay and I go tracking there are always like 4 to 6 different dogs following us by the
time we are done.
Okay so something so cool is that We were tracking on Krenshaw Road and we were just
sharing scriptures and giving service to people that lived on that road. This man came up
to Sister Begay and I and we could tell Edward was just looking to bash with us, he asks,
"what can you guys teach me that I can't learn in the bible." Right away we responded to
him in saying that we too read the bible and that we just like him have a faith in Christ.
Right away he lightened up and invited us to meet his family, he took us over to people
who had rejected us earlier and we got to know them a little more. Turns out Edward and
his family has been through a lot, and we are going to be going back to do service for
them. Everyone on Krenshaw Road were just so humble and caring, I'm excited to work
with these people! Later that night we had dinner with a friend to the missionaries named
Kenny. He is a really good Cook. He cooked a very southern meal for us, alot of carbs, I
LOVED IT!!! But in one conversation it was getting a little intense and Sister Begay Had
shared a beautiful testimony and I believe our relationship with kenny has grown.
This week we had Helped the Stihora's move into their new house, so that was alot of fun.
And we are going tomorrow to Heidi To help clean and reorganize her house. And we help
the Cambals repaint their house, They had barely had a baby so they've been needing alot
of help. and we had invited them to the ward trunk or treat, the members were very
welcoming, they are such a good family. Alot of service is being done and I feel like that
allows people to trust us more a good way of sharing and growing our Christ like
attributes.
So our Elder's are so good to us, Because I have lost my wallet I didn't have any money to
buy my bike, well Elder Butterfeld as allowed me to barrow his bike until we were able to
get me a new card, which should be coming in today! Also Sister Begay and I have been in
pretty sketchy situations and with them watching out for us I feel like I'm protected. I am so
glad That we have the priesthood and that worthy men use it for the benefits of others, If it
wasn't for our Elders a situation could have been worse, and the missionary work probably
wouldn't be as effective either.
I think is all that I have touched on, I probably will remember more things to write after I
get off. But I know that this gospel is true and we shouldn't be shy or ashamed to share it
because everyone needs it! And we don't need to be preaching it either, just in our
conversations and our examples people will tell if you are a true witness of Christ. I know
Christ has given us an opportunity to repent and perfect if we choose to repent. I love you
all and Am praying for many! don't be afraid to write or email me.

Wetumpka, Alabama

October 25, 2016
Hey Yall'
Okay so computers in Wetumpka were shut down yesterday, but luckily it wasn't before I figured some stuff out first. t have a lot to say and not enough time! So I didn't have a P-day last week because traveling was my P-day! But I'm in Alabama now in a cute little town by the name of Wetumpka! I'll explain more about it but first i'm going to explain everything from last week.

So i talked about Heidi and how her spirit was so awesome and she was so intrigued by the atonement and she finally understood why people need Christ in their life. WE COMMITTED HER TO BAPTISM, this was all in the MTC so unfortunately I am not able to get involved with that because I was leaving! It's been so much fun teaching her and I love seeing how the gospel changes people’s lives. Also I had an awesome district, we would help each other out with struggles someone maybe going through.

Okay so when we had moved back into our new residence it was terrible because they had a vending machine on our floor and right next to the room I was staying in. I tried so hard to not spend my money on snacks, but they even had ice-cream snacks, it's like they were trying to torture me. And now there is another bat problem in the building were we have our classrooms there has been a bat on that floor! And I swear but everyone said I was crazy and maybe I was crazy and it wasn't there but I went to the bathroom one time and I heard a Bat in the bathroom. I wasn't sticking around for anything, I got out there as soon as I could, my district all laugh when I ran out of the bathroom because they said I made a weird wailing sound. But yeah lots of fun moments in the MTC, if you go with the right attitude and a goal set of what you want to accomplish anyone will have an awesome experience. Talking about that I was sick all this last week, I had lost my voice and it HURT!!! But yeah I was just going to deal with it but Sister Wright really encouraged me to get a priesthood blessing if not for myself then just give the elders a chance to exercise their power. So I asked Elder Allen to give my a blessing because I new that he had never given a blessing before. The experience was way cool, and the spirit was present for sure, by the end of that night my voice wasn't back yet but it had felt a lot better.

The last day in the MTC! I was so excited and ready, everyone was crying and writing in each others journals but I was just really excited. I tried to be a little more sincere because a lot of people were shedding tears and bearing testimony of how great was the MTC was, but I was counting down the hours. Sister Wright and i hadn't have time during the day to pack so we stayed up late packing up all of our stuff, and we used the rest of our money on snacks in the vending machine... YES! So we got to bed around 12 am then we had to wake up at 2:30am. So yeah we met up with Elder Sommerfeld and Allen before going on the bus because we were the only one in our district going to Alabama. The trip to the Airport was super short, not enough time to get in some sleep but after checking in and getting to where we needed to go we all had the chance to call our parents. It was really nice to talk to them and get some words of comfort before leaving. And sorry I don't remember what all we had talked about because I was really tired.

But yes the ride on the airplane was nice got some sleep in on the way to Atlanta, Georgia, then on the way to Alabama Birmingham I had a chance to talk to lady named Danny and we just talked about religion and I was telling her about the church. She said she was open to learning about all religions so I gave her a mormon.org card and asked her to check it out, I hope Danny did check it out. she was really cool. So landing from the plane we got off and met Elder and Sister Sainsbury, they took us over to the mission Home and fed us awesome food! Every thing here in Alabama is so different, I feel like I'm being drowned by trees and wild bamboo, cotton, and vines, but its so green and beautiful down here. We then got down to business and everyone had to get set up for their area, When I went to go fetch my driver's license my wallet was gone! I tried to stay clam but then I think everyone kinda ignored the situation because I was calm. I then asked for some help and  Sister Morrision allowed me to call my mom, and figure out some stuff. I felt like I was a wreck because I only had 5 hours of sleep and I was sick and had lost my wallet! It was not my day and I was trying so hard not to cry, i did what my mom suggested which was to get a priesthood blessing and after that I felt at peace, like I knew i was going to be okay. When we got to the hotel I was wiped out! And that night I realize that even though it was a bad day a lot of good things happened, and because I struggle to write in my journal I decided to make it a gratitude journal instead, so that way I have things to be grateful for every single day and I felt like it's helped me with so much.

The next day we got to get up and when we had gone over to the transfer meeting there was a lot of people. I got to meet my new companion SISTER BEGAY!!!!! she is Native American, and I love her so much. She's been so patient and supportive and she laughs at all my lame jokes, so she makes me really happy. That first night I got to know the bishop and a few other ward members and I could just tell that there was something missing here. Sister Begay says that they usually don't talked to members that much and that was the most open she's ever seen the bishop, I can tell that the relationship between missionaries and members is kinda weak! I’ve been encouraging sister Begay to see as many members as we can while we have to investigators to see, but she just doesn't see how important it is to get involved with members. That was until we had a lot of referrals from members, So We are working on it , but i feel like we have a lot of work here to do. Sister Stihora is a recent convert and she is so funny because she is so stuck on the conversation of the 3 nephites, her little girl named Lila is so adorable and reminds me a lot of Natilee.

Investigators we have recently seen is William we are reading the B.O.M with him right now and trying to get him to pray, but i think we need to maybe go back to the basics of helping him find his faith in Christ. Tinasha We too are reading the B.o.M with her and she knows it's true but she is having commitment issues, so we are helping her with that. The Cabals we she are ready to get baptized so we are going to invite them to be baptized the next time we see them. we had just met Angela but haven't gotten back to her because she is an on call nurse so we are working on contacting her. We also just met Kiequan and were meeting up with him tomorrow and he's a really sweet kid and I can see a lot of potential with him.

Real quick cool story, We went to go and visit a less active named Heidi, when we ran into her she was just on her way to see her neighbors who were going through a hard time and had invited us to come with her. Her neighbor's name was Lisa and her father had stage four cancer and they were expecting him to die. Lisa knew we had the priesthood in our church and asked if we could give blessings to her and her father for comfort. we explained that only men could hold the priesthood and that we could get the elders over here with no problems, before we left to get the elders I had a prompting to share with her D&C 121:7-8 and I bore my testimony of my Grandma Barbara of the peace she had when she had past away that she knew God was watching over her and that God will take of her father Also. That's been the strongest I felt the presence of My grandma Barbara and we quickly fetched the Elders to give a blessing, super cool experiences this week.

So sorry but I have ran out of time! I love each of you and I know that Christ has Atoned for all of our sins and because of that we are able to become better people. Learn from your mistakes instead of letting them pull you down and find peace through your trials by giving your burdens to the Lord. LOVE YALL"

Sincerely

Sister Hatch

MTC Excitement

October 11, 2016
Wow, Sounds like a lot going on. I did send letters back home. Has no one received them? Let me know and I can see what happened in that process.
So since the last I've talked to you guys there has been a lot going on! I'll just go in order, So last Tuesday after I had written you guys my district All went to the Provo Temple and did a session, the building was so beautiful. The theme was snowflakes, so there were a lot of small chandlers in the shape of snowflakes and everything was just to beautiful! Walking around the temple was so awesome and the acorns here are HUGE! And they hurt when they fall down from the trees, one struck me in the neck and it felt like some one had thrown a rock. the Elders keep playing around and thats nothing new, we decided to stop with the food challenges because Elder Jolly puked in the middle of class one time.

on Wednesday new missionaries came into the MTC, and we were still teaching Jiyeon, I didn;t feel good about the last lesson to Sister Wright and I fast and prayed for help, and wow did it help! she could hardly speak English and I told last week that the lesson was terrible, but she slowly learned more and it's so awesome to see her growth! We invited her to pray when she's at home and when we checked up on her she had the cutest story about how she prayed for her sick pet fish, SO CUTE I LOVE HER!!! So some lessons were complicated but the last lesson was awesome. She said she now believes in God, she knows Joseph is a prophet, and we invited her to be baptized but she won't without her husband. But Wow how much she's grown and the joy I can see when she talks about the Savoir. Later that day we had found out that my teacher sister Fultin, is pregnat! but also that her friend died and she Has a very hard time with that right now. I shared with her about My grandma Woodside, How she too died from Cancer and she was okay with it, because she knew God was watching over her and God is watching over sister Fultin's friend too. That was just another super spiritual moments.

On Thursday, Wow it was a powerful night! We were reading in Enos and we talked about how God talks to Us. We as a district all knelt down together and offered a prayer, The Spirit filled the room and Elder Simons suggested to take this time to give everyone on a priesthood blessings. I'm not going to share too much because it may be personal to others in my district. But How awesome it is that we have that opportunities to receive blessing from God through worthy priesthood holders. That room felt like the Celestial room and we didn’t want that night to end.

Friday, We had taught a new investigator, her name was Heidi, she came from Germany and had heard about the church through her sister who is a convert! Wow was she awesome! she hadn;t understood why Jesus died on the cross and we explained about the atonement and how the room was filled with the spirit, once she knew that she was imperfect and she could become perfect. She had alot of questions and wanted to understand how she could use the atonement. we are going back tomorrow to teach her more, I'm so excited!

Sunday was so awesome my compainion and I were able to teach a lesson and fasted again. It was a pretty relaxing day until later that night. A girl had fainted in the shower! she was feeling so sick and thought that a shower would help and when sister Cushman and I were in the sink area and hear a big thud. Few other sisters and I went to see what had happen and she has unconscious and was bleeding from her head. One of the sisters turned off the water but was careful not to move her. While another was going to get help. With paramedics there everyone on the floor got together prayed for the sister who fell and sang hymns. She is okay now but unfortunately she is unable to return to her mission. So every one keep Sister Olsen in your prayers.

Monday, We were teaching Ashley, her soon to be husband was a member of the Church and she saw how much this religion had effected his life, so she was learning about the church now, and she knows alot but she just doesn't think it's possible that Joseph smith was a prophet of God. Ashley though does want to be baptized, but is having a hard time giving up smoking so we are helping with that alsoWe will meet up with her tomorrow and see where she's at.

Today. So if anyone has read Elder Dallin Hammond's letters you would know his first week girls were evacuated out of a building because someone got bit by a bat. well now the problem is taken care of and all the sisters are moving back in to that building.  and everything is so nice and big, and they have lots of vending machines so yeah I'm gonna get fat. But hey I'm okay with that. The only thing they dont have that I'm really craving is celery! I LOVE CELELERY and CHEESE CAKE and I can never find any of it here. Sister Wright and I are having a blast! We get along so well and I actually can't imagine not being her compainion anymore. Every body write me back and tell me what is going on!

LOVE ALL YALL'

Sister Hatch

Sorry I always do this, One last thing. I leave to the field on October 17th. We have to be out of the MTC by 2:30 in the morning so yeah that will be great. But they say I'm allowed to call you guys (family) before I go so just be prepared to get a call at like 4 in the morning on monday! Love you Bye!
